The Christmas Tag

When I saw this tag I thought it was perfect to really make me think how much I do actually love christmas. If I wasn't already pretty excited this has made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and I am now craving mince pies and mulled wine.

1. What time of year do you start your Christmas shopping?
I am usually pretty good and have most of my shopping done by now however this year I seem to be behind and making mental lists in my head is not getting it done any quicker. I think I need to go out on my own, focused and ready to do some serious christmas shopping.

2. Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink you limit solely to the Christmas season to share?
I will only eat mince pies and drink mulled wine at christmas, any other time of the year and it just feels wrong. I love baking and I have a lot of christmassy recipes I want to make and share with you.

3. Tell me how Christmas goes down in your home?
Christmas has always been a big deal in my home and it is definitely my favourite time of the year. When me, my brother and sister were younger we would plan months in advance who's room we would open our stockings in, it was usually my sisters so me and my brother didn't have to wait around for her, as we were always up first. In recent years we still have our stockings and presents under the tree but it's always happened at a much more reasonable hour. Mum would always cook a big christmas lunch followed by a million puddings, family would come round and we would play games and watch whatever christmas specials were on TV.

4. Do you have any Christmas traditions?
Christmas day and Boxing day are pretty similar in my house year after year. We used to have more traditions until my parents separated but as families have grown and there is more people to see it's usually a bit of a mad house. Presents always happen in the morning and thats followed usually by a lot of chocolate, sherry and port, two drinks I would never have any other time of the year.

5. Do you have a favourite festive coffee?
Considering I don't like coffee I'm going to say no. I was however walking past costa recently and I'm desperate to try their wintery white hot chocolate.

6. Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
I have lot's of Favourite christmas songs but I think a few of my favourites have to be: Have your self a merry little christmas, Christmas(Baby please come home), I wish it could be christmas everyday and White christmas. It's not fair to make me pick one.

7. What do you do on Christmas Eve?
I usually spend Christmas Day at my Dad's house, it's pretty much like christmas day, presents, christmas lunch, games, lots and lots of alcohol and films. My brother and sister come over and my two year old nephew Harry and it's always such a great day. I could never stay out late on christmas eve though...Santa's coming.

8. What's your Christmas wrapping strategy?
I'm a bit of a wrapping nerd and actually enjoy doing it. Last year I used brown paper and ribbon and I think thats my aim this year however there is such nice wrapping paper at there I may just get some of that :).

9. What's your dream gift this year?
To be honest I never really ask for anything in particular as I love surprises and I usually do pretty well. I have however asked for a pair of gorgeous boots from Zara so I have my fingers crossed for them.

10. Describe your Christmas tree? How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated?
We always get a big real tree as nothing beats the smell of it, it just smells like christmas I love it so much. As this year I have flown the nest and got my own little place I have my first christmas tree of my own which you can see here. We only have a small place so I only have a little fake one but I still love and my decorations. I'm going home for a week at christmas so I will still get the benefit of all my Mum's lovely decorations in the house.

11. Do you decorate just the tree or other area's of your house?
This year in my own house I have my tree and put up some really cute paper chains but that's about it. At home my mum always does the house so lovely. We put up fairy lights the main tree and a smaller one and always have a wreath on the door. Other than that it's usually tinsel and things we have made as we have grown up and usually lots of holly around the house. My dad also goes pretty OTT, it's safe to say we all love christmas.

12. What do you wear on Christmas day?
I always like to dress up on Christmas Day and put something nice but comfy on. Ever since I was little we have always had something new to wear but as I often get clothes for christmas there is usually something in there I will want to wear straight away :).

I hope you've enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it, I'm now off to put my Christmas alum on and to dance around like a lunatic.
I tag everyone :)

Lots of Love

Rocking around the christmas tree

Got my first little christmas tree this year, it may be small but the best things come in little packages right? Either way I love it and it's all mine. The flat is only small so I didn't want something too big, so this is what I ended up with...I'll let the pictures tell you the rest.

Ten Things I Love

 Ten Things I Love

I love autumn days, when the leaves fall and the nights start to draw in. I know christmas is on the way.

A candle lit bath with many delicious smelling lush products around me.

When my gorgeous nephew calls me up to tell me he loves me.

Spending time with those dearest to me.

Days where I have hours to waste on Pinterest and Youtube.

Clothes! Clothes! Clothes!

When James surprises me with little sentimental gifts.

Baking and tasting lots of delicious treats.

Christmas time has to possibly be my favourite time of the year ever. I love everything about it and everything that comes with it.

Going on Adventures to new and old places.

Just a quick post today.

Lots of Love

Hello again

Hi there :)

I know its been a while and I feel that in the last few months I have really neglected my blog. It's been a super busy time for me recently and I have done and gone through some really exciting changes. Last month I moved house!! Away from home for the very first time an hour and a half up the road to be precise but I am definitely missing my mum making me a cup of tea in the morning. Me and my boyfriend decided it was time that we got a place of our own and as he was going back to university to do his masters...clever little so and so, this was the prefect time to do something together. I don't know if any of you have experienced travelling almost every week for a relationship, however amazing it is to see that person it does get exhausting, so after three years of doing just that for know it is something we no longer have to worry about. I also study with the Open University and my own course has started back up, so with that, the move and job hunting things have been pretty hectic.
With things settling back down I am back on the blogisphere with lots of fun ideas for a variety of different blog posts to come your way.

Lots of Love

PS I thought I would leave you with some pictures to show you what I have been up to in the last three months :)

What's in my bag

It's been a while since I did my last post, there has just been so much going on in my life at the moment. Me and James have decided to move in together in September so a lot of time has been spent trying to sort out some where to live. We have found the most lovely apartment and I am so excited to start shopping for it and moving everything in to our new place. More posts to follow to show you all the lovely things I will be getting. Other than that my calendar has just been jam packed full of all sorts of lovely things mostly revolving around friends, family and different birthdays.

I thought I would do a what's in my bag post as I find these so interesting. Who doesn't like to have a noisy at what other people carry around with them on a day to basis. I can honestly say my bag is often home to a whole heap of rubbish that know one needs with them on a day to day basis. I have in fact just recently changed bags so for me it is very tame. My current bag is one I picked up for a mere £20 in the recent Next sale. An absolute bargain that I could not walk away from.

This is everything my bag currently holds and surprisingly for me my bag is not littered with receipts and crumpled bits of paper. They are the bane of my life and how ever hard I try they always seem to breed in my bag. As I only started using this bag a week ago the breeding of receipts has not yet started so I am left with all my handbag essentials that are easy to reach.

I always carry around with me my notebook, I got this lovely one for my birthday and I believe it is from Paperchase, it also came with a mug in the same style. I love my notebook and use it for everything from making lists, doodling to jotting down ideas I come up with whilst out and about. I have quite the collection but this is my current handbag one. My railcard is carried in every single bag as it is so important to me, I use the train a lot and often book tickets in advance, if I forgot this I would not be a happy bunny. The little sewing kit was in a hotel I stayed in recently, I've never used it but I always seem to carry it with me, just in case.

My camera is an essential part of my bag as I love taking snaps when I am out about, it's such a great little snap and go camera and has so far captured some great memories. I have two pairs of sunglasses (who doesn't need two pairs eh) both from Primark and cost no more than a couple of pounds each, bargain. The lip stick I have in there is my current favourite and I absolutely love it. It's so fun and summery but not too bold at all. It's Barry M shade 53 and I team this with my Balance Me sheer raspberry shine on tinted lip salve. It's so hydrating for the lips and as well as adding a gorgeous shine it also smells like fleshly squeezed citrus juice (I'm sure it should taste like Raspberry's but I don't think so.)

This little Mini car I carry around was given to me my boyfriend for my birthday last year. I really want a Mini so as a little joke he got me a toy one. I carry it with me as my two year old nephew is obsessed with it. When ever he see's my bag I just hear 'car car car' so I carry it around with me purely for him. I recently picked up these Pandora catalogues to have a flick through and they have some gorgeous new charms. I love my key set as well, it's so me they are defiantly girl keys. Hair grips, a mirror and a tampon are also a requirement in every girls handbag.

This is my bag, I have never owned a smart red bag before and fell in love with this one the minute I saw it.  It's so practical with plenty of room in side and pockets to keep things separate. It also has a clip on long shoulder strap but i rarely carry my bag like that.

This is another picture of a few things I have covered above. I have used my purse for a good few years now and it still feels as good as the day I got it. It is from Accessorize and is the most perfect purse for me. It has plenty of pockets and compartments to keep every separate and in order.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the treasures my bag holds, although they aren't the most exciting things in the word. Thanks for reading and i'll chat to you soon.

Dance in the Sunshine

I honestly think that Sunday was the hottest day of the year so far and I definitely wasn't complaining about it.YAY the sun was finally out!!! I hate being stuck inside especially when the days are as gorgeous as they are at the moment, so before the sun got to hot and before all i'd want to do is lie in it, me and my boyfriend decided to go strawberry picking. I was so excited as i had finally managed to get my boyfriend to take me and I was quite literally like an excited child in a sweet shop. When we arrived  we went straight in to the farm shop and picked up a basket to take to the strawberry fields to carry the massive amount of strawberries i had every intention on eating myself. I think I ate more on the day going round then I took home with me.

As a child my mum took me my brother and sister strawberry picking every year, as we have the most picturesque spot about 3 miles up the road. We also get out christmas tree from there each christmas which is so lovely as the place has such a christmasy feel in the winter. Traditions are such an important part of growing up and I feel so lucky I am able to continue doing the things I always loved.

I thought I would share a few pictures from my day with your all. I really am a firm believer of not taking for granted the little things and just enjoying life and everything about it.

They tasted as good as they look!!

He was fascinated that it had a hole it it :)

Digging around for the best finds!

Juicy Strawberries

Mmmmmmm

Taste Test

I decided to rock my dungarees for the first time this year :)

30 Day Snap: Day 29

I love Saturdays! Lie ins, doing as I please, nothing beats it! Working Monday to Friday really makes you appreciate the weekends. I am now at my boyfriends house, we went over so he could sort all his clothes out and we had a massive clear out. 30 Day Snap: Day 27

The town I live in doesn't have loads In the way of good shops, however it has this box of treasures. Quite possibly my favourite little shop, it's an independent business that sells all sorts of little bits for your home. I could easily spend all of my money in here.

30 Day Snap: Day 24

Today was another baking day :). There is a funny story behind these cakes, me and my friend made them for a girl at work for her birthday, took them in today and found out her birthday is a month away, slightly awkward but hilarious all the same. The cakes were delicious so all was not lost and after all everyday should be a cake day in my opinion.

30 Day Snap:Day 14

Tea party time :)
After a week of being at work the perfect end to the working week was a tea party with my girlies. It was so lovely catching up with everyone, as we're all so busy it's so nice when we all have the time to be together.
It's moments like these that make me realise how lucky I am to have such great people around me.

I made the jammy dodgers at the top.

30 Day snap: Day 13

In the evening I decided to go for a walk with some girlfriends and we where blessed with a hint of blue skies!

30 Day snap: Day 12

With festival season fast approaching I thought this year was the year to bite the bullet and attend my first one! I'm starting small and going to wireless festival for one day in July! I love camping, but camping festival style worries me slightly, is this just me? I would love to do a weekend festival so watch this space!

Today I got this super cute headband and I plan on cracking this out as much possible! When I wear it I feel so floaty and carefree (possibly my inner hippy bursting to come out).

NOTD: Floral nail transfers

My OPI nail varnish collection has been ever expanding since I

bought my first colour last year. The newest member to my

collection is the colour Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot and in my mind the

colour has been given the most perfect name.

It's a lovely shade of pink and once applied to the nail, becomes

pigmented. The one coat is plenty for good quality coverage.

I've been wearing this colour so much since I got it because it

screams fun, and as a bonus is chip resistant (which is perfect

for my clumsy self).

Today I decided to add a little bit of something extra to my

nails. Last week I ordered some floral nail transfers from amazon

for less than £2! BARGAIN. You get between 15-20

transfers per pack so if like me you like having the design on

only one nail, then they will last you quite a while.

I got into a bit of a tiss with them at first and although they

came with instructions it took me a while to figure out how to

get the transfer onto the nail successfully. Once I had figured

this out it was as easy as pie; I don’t know why it took me so

long to figure out! Anyhow, I now know for next time...I hope.

I was so happy with the finished look I just had to share them.

I'm already looking on Amazon at the next designs I can buy.

30 Day Snap: Day 11

Everyday is a writing day!
I love nice stationary and can be known for buying endless notebooks and never actually filling them! I do however have an obsession with making list's and today was a day where I wrote down all my little thoughts and things I really need to crack on with! So refreshing!

30 Day Snap: Day 6

#Day 6

The sun has got it's hat on hip hip hip hooray :). After being cooped up in an office all day i decided there was only one thing to do once i left. I went on a run in the sunshine down by the river. I love love being out doors and this gorgeous weather is a long time coming, so i plan on taking full advantage of it.

30 Day Snap: Day 5

30 Day Snap: #Day5

Today has been a very average Wednesday for me and consisted mainly of sitting behind my desk at work. The sun had also decided to hide itself away,  so when i got home i decided to catch up on some reading with a cup of tea to hand.

The Great Gatsby has easily got to be one of my all time favourite books and i got this gorgeous edition from one of my closest friends for my birthday last month. There is nothing quite like the enjoyment of a good book.

30 Day Snap: Day 4

30 Day snap #4

OK, so today is the day i realised it has been over a month since i baked something. I love baking i could literally do it everyday, if i had the time and enough people to feed. I got this book for my birthday last month and have spent my evening flicking through and planning my next culinary delights. For anyone who doesn't know the humming bird bakery, check out their stuff. I have one word for them DELICIOUS.

30 Day Snap: Day 3

30 Day Snap: Day #3

The view from my bed!

Today has been pretty uneventful for me. I'm still aching from the run yesterday and teamed with the Monday morning blues i wasn't really feeling getting up for work this morning.
Needless to say work went pretty slowly but before i new it i was home, i had my tea and then decided to take refuge on my bed and relaxed the hell out...it's the simple things in life :)

30 Day Snap: Day 2

Today my beautiful sister and i ran the race for life at Burghley house. We took on the 10k challenge and crossing that finish line was definitely a moment to be proud of. I wanted to share this picture as although my feet are killing me i had the biggest smile on my face.

It was such a lovely day and the atmosphere made the day that even more special. Well done to everyone who has or will be taking part.

30 Day Snap: Day 1

I've decided this month to partake in a little challenge. Everyday during June i will post a photograph of what i am up to, with the hope that by the end i will have a photo journal filled with lots of great memories. I'm excited as i have never done anything like this before.

Louise at Sprinkle of Glitter is the inspiration behind the 30 day snap. I look forward to browsing through lot's of photos posted by other bloggers taking part. Enjoy :) xx

Today i was in Sheffield visiting my boyfriend. It was only a brief one night visit, but the weather and the company was great and I have had a lovely Saturday (shame we don't have another bank holiday). I did however spend a lot of my day travelling home on the train away from the sunshine, but the view of the countryside was to nice not to take a picture.
